The Biggest Gamer Gatherings In The World

It is often said that geeks rule the world.  At these game conventions they do.  Bring out the gamer in you and participate in one of these conventions.  Don't forget to take your Dell product with you.

San Diego Comic Con

When it comes to gatherings nothing beats the popularity of the comic convention, or comic con.  While it has gotten more mainstream attention (thanks to celebrities and media coverage) and has expanded their comic book roots to reach out to genres such as science fiction and animation through the years, they manage to still have room for games.  Granted it was added as part of the expansion but their popularity alone will attract people to them.  They offer card game tournaments and gaming areas for people to participate in along with separate rooms for each.

Gen Con

While it is not as popular as comic con the Geneva Convention is the largest gaming convention in North America.  Known as Gen Con this convention contains art exhibits, anime, workshops, seminars, hall booths and tons more related to science fiction, electronics, adventure, hobby and consumer fantasy.  Meet people who are part of the gaming industry and participate in game tournaments.  The games alone consist of board games, card games, video games, live action games, computer games and a whole lot more.  Going here will give a person game overload.

Spiel

Traveling across the ocean to Essen, Germany lays the Internationale Spieltage SPIEL.  Also called 'Spiel' or 'Essen' this competition is one of the largest expeditions for games.  Their goal is to inform visitors about national and international games.  To attract people for this cause the convention has authors, manufacturers, publishers and players of the game scene gathered here to exchange experiences and present their games to visitors.  Classic, current, new and unfamiliar games are there for everyone to try at each table.  This gives people an opportunity to see which games a person wants to fully commit to.

 Tokyo Game Show

Going a little farther away from Germany  is the Tokyo Game Show.  In Japan this convention is divided into seven areas: kids, sales, business solution, game school, advanced mobile / PCs and general (the largest area).  It concentrates on both the business and the public.  Unlike the others the public is allowed to visit for two days instead of the full four.  At that time the public (called public day) can explore all the booths and what is offered.  There is a PC gaming event and game planning competitions.  For the first two days it is considered business day and is only for invited people, the press and industries.

This convention makes a geek feel chic.  So prepare yourself for these conventions using Dell gaming laptops; it’s the best way to get a head start on the competition.  Whether a person is going for fun or to participate in a tournament this are great places to be a gamer.
